Vikings Sign O-Lineman O’Conner

Minnesota on Tuesday signed offensive lineman Adam O’Conner, who was with Hamburg of NFL Europa this past spring. O’Connor attended William & Mary and can play guard and tackle. He started every game at left tackle for Hamburg, which won the final NFL Europa title last month. O’Connor played defensive end at William & Mary and had 16.5 sacks, 170 tackles and five forced fumbles. He spent time last season with the Carolina Panthers.

Another item of interest for Vikings fans: USA Today’s annual survey of player compensation has been published and two Vikings offensive linemen were among the top 10 for 2006. Left tackle Bryant McKinnie was third behind New England defensive lineman Richard Seymour and New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees with compensation of $17.5 million.
