Vikings Work On Third-And-Long

Childress

Vikings coach Brad Childress says the team did well with yesterday’s third-and-long drills during training camp in Mankato. Childress says it’s important for the offense to convert at least a few of those situations into first downs, while the defense can set the tone for a game by forcing the opposition to punt. Not practicing yesterday morning was first-round draft pick Adrian Peterson, who’s nursing a hip pointer. He took part in a few plays during the afternoon practice session.
