Peterson takes the handoff

The Vikings host the St. Louis Rams in their preseason opener tonight at the Metrodome.  Coach Brad Childress says there is no game plan for tonight.  Childress says he’s anxious to see how the young players react in their first game.  Meantime, it’s not known how much playing time running back Adrian Peterson will get tonight.  The first round draft pick has been bothered by a hip pointer and just returned to full-contact practice this week.
