Jackson to Play First Half vs Hawks

Vikings coach Brad Childress says Tarvaris Jackson is set to start the first half and the first series of the second half in Saturday’s exhibition at Seattle. Brooks Bollinger will finish the game, but Childress cautions there is still a competition for the number one quarterback job. Joining the Vikings is free agent wide receiver Robert Ferguson, who was released by Green Bay last week. Childress says Ferguson creates a more spirited competition for playing time among the Vikings’ wideouts.
