The Detroit Lions beat the Vikings 20-17 yesterday in overtime at Ford Field.  The Vikes started the overtime session with the ball, but Brooks Bollinger fumbled at midfield and Shaun Rogers recovered for Detroit.  Jason Hanson booted a 37-yard field goal with 8:57 left in overtime for the win.  Minnesota falls to 1-1 with the loss, while the surprising Lions improve to 2-0.

Jon Kitna started as QB for the Lions, but left in the second quarter after being shaken up.  He returned in the fourth quarter and finished 22-of-33 for 245 yards with a touchdown and an interception.  J.T. O’Sullivan filled in and completed 13 passes for 148 yards and a score but got picked off twice.  Roy Williams had seven catches for 111 yards and a touchdown, as Detroit improved to 2-and-0.  Tarvaris Jackson started under center for Minnesota, which fell to 1-and-1.  He completed 17-of-33 attempts for 166 yards, but threw four interceptions.  Jackson also ran for 16 yards and one TD.  The other Vikes touchdown came on a Ray Edwards fumble return which tied the game at 17 with just over five minutes left in regulation.

The Vikings play the Chiefs in Kansas City next Sunday.
