Flags an Issue for Childress and Vikings

The Vikings were whistled for 12 penalties in their loss at Detroit, and coach Brad Childress says they can’t keep killing themselves with sloppy play. Childress says there’s a fine line between aggressive penalties and penalties that aren’t very smart. The flags cost the Vikings 96 yards, one week after they committed six penalties for 40 yards in the season-opening win over Atlanta.
