While the Vikings enjoyed their bye week, the NFC North race tightened up a bit. Green Bay lost its first game of the season, falling at Chicago 27-20 on a late touchdown pass by Brian Griese. Detroit failed in its chance to move into a first-place tie with the Packers when the Lions were drilled by Washington 34-3. The Packers still lead the NFC North with a 4-and-1 record, with the Lions a game back at 3-and-2. The Bears are 2-and-3, with the Vikings at 1-and-3. The Vikings play at Chicago on Sunday.
