Peterson Wins NFC Offensive Player of the Week

Running back Adrian Peterson was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday for his record-breaking performance in Week Nine.  Peterson set a new NFL single-game record by rushing for 296 yards in Minnesota’s 35-17 win over San Diego on Sunday.  He also tied a team-record for touchdowns in a game with three.  It marks the second time this year the rookie has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week, as he earned the honor for his 224-yard effort at Chicago in Week Six.  The 22-year-old Oklahoma product currently leads all NFL running backs with 1,036 rushing yards and eight TDs.
