Vikings Decide on Detmer with QB’s Hurting

The Vikings shored up their thinning quarterback depth by signing 34-year-old Koy Detmer following a workout yesterday at Winter Park in Eden Prairie. The Vikings have just one healthy quarterback in Brooks Bollinger, with Tarvaris Jackson recovering from a concussion and Kelly Holcomb still bothered by neck pain. Detmer was picked over several other quarterbacks who tried out, including Saint Paul native Chris Weinke.  Detmer is now in his 10th N-F-L season and spent the first nine with Philadelphia, where Vikings coach Brad Childress was an assistant.
