If Peterson’s Season is Over, So is the Vikings’

Rookie Phemon Adrian Peterson went down with a serious looking knee-injury in the 3rd quarter of Sunday’s 34-0 loss to the Packers. Peterson was on pace to crush rookie running records this season. But now it appears that he will not crush those records. It appears that Peterson will miss at least a few games and that will probably cost him a chance at Rookie of the Year. The reason that Peterson’s injury is so devastating to the Vikings is because their style of football requires a dominant running back. Their defense stops the run thus controlling half of the clock, that combined with a dominant running game assured the Vikings winning the battle of time of possession. Winning the battle of time-of-possession has been key to the Vikings success. Without Peterson, the Vikings will be fighting an up-hill battle in the fight for time-of-possesion. But who knows??? Peterson might not miss any time at all and continue to carry the Vikings above .500 for the rest of the season.
