Punchless Vikings Welcome Raiders To Metrodome

Two of the NFL’s more disappointing teams will hit the field when the Vikings welcome the Raiders to the Metrodome this Sunday.  The Raiders are 2-and-7 and have lost five straight after falling 17-6 to the Chicago Bears last week.  Daunte Culpepper will get the start at quarterback for Oakland.  The 30-year-old Culpepper spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Vikings, and will be making his first trip to Minnesota as an opposing player.  Culpepper replaces Josh McCown, who managed just 108 yards passing and was intercepted once in last week’s loss.  The Vikings fell to 3-and-6 after getting pummeled 34-0 by the Green Bay Packers in Week Ten.  Adrian Peterson ran for just 45 yards before leaving the game with a right knee injury.  Peterson tore his LCL and will not play this week.  Chester Taylor is expected to start for the Vikes.  The two teams last met in Oakland in 2003, with the Raiders pulling out a 28-18 victory.
