Peterson Not Likely to be Able to Go Sunday vs Giants

Despite a win Sunday over the Raiders, the Vikings still have injury worries, and one ofPeterson them continues to be superstar rookie running back Adrian Peterson, who is unlikely to play this week vs the Giants.  Peterson was injured two weeks ago vs the Packers, and coach Brad Childress said today that Peterson was sent to work out in a swimming pool, trying to get his right knee back up to snuff.  “It’s hard to say right now. He hasn’t been on hard land yet,” Childress said.  The team seemed in good hands Sunday with backup and former starter Chester Taylor, who rushed for 164 yards in the teams win over the Raiders.  As far as getting Peterson back, the team won’t rush him as they know that at 4-6 this season is likely going to end without a playoff birth.  “I’d say it’s a long shot right now to get back there, but we’ll see,” said Childress.
