Vikings’ Smith Gets Defensive Honors

Citing his two interceptions including a 93-yard touchdown return on Sunday, the N-F-L has named Vikings’ safety Dwight Smith as the N-F-C’s Defensive Player of the Week. Smith’s big pickoff of Eli Manning is the third-longest in Vikings history. The purple record is still held by Reggie Rutland, who had a 97-yard return against the Rams in 1991.
