Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Sidney Rice (16) throws a block on Chicago Bears cornerback Charles Tillman, left, to break Vikings wide receiver Robert Ferguson on a 71-yard run during the third quarter of an NFL football game, Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, in Minneapolis. Minnesota won 20-13.

Vikings rookie star Adrian Peterson rushed for 78 yards and a pair of scores as Minnesota defeated the Chicago Bears 20-13 at the Metrodome last night. Tarvaris Jackson was intercepted three times and fumbled once, but the Vikings managed to overcome the miscues to improve to 8-and-6 and maintain control of the final NFC wild card spot. Jackson ended 18-of-29 for 249 yards. Minnesota’s fifth straight victory eliminated the Bears, Cardinals, Lions and Eagles from playoff contention. Jason McKie punched it in from one-yard out in the second quarter to account for Chicago’s only touchdown. The Vikings trailed at halftime 13-6, but scored eight points in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
