Tarvaris Jackson rallied the Vikings from a 16-point fourth-quarter deficit, but his fumble on the second play of overtime led to Jason Elam’s 30-yard field goal that gave Denver a 22-19 season-ending win.  Trailing 16-3 in the fourth quarter, Jackson threw two touchdown passes and ran in a pair of two-point conversion to force the extra session.  But he lost the ball on a violent hit by Denver’s Alvin McKinley to give the Broncos the ball well within field goal range.  The Vikings’ playoff hopes ended before their game did.  Washington wrapped up the final NFC postseason spot by beating Dallas 27-6.  The Vikings wind up the season at eight-and-eight.
