With Future in Doubt; McKinnie Works Out With Vikings

The Vikings got a welcome sight on Wednesday, as left tackle Bryant McKinnie was back with the team after attending a court hearing in Florida on Tuesday.  McKinnie joined the team for a workout during an OTA.  He has plead not guilty to charges including one felony and three misdemeanors—stemming from a fight outside a Miami nightclub in February.  He did not discuss the legal situation other than to say that the last few months have been a “learning experience.”

He is hoping to avoid any type of punishment that would prevent him from taking the field this season for a Vikings team that has a good of a shot as any to be in the mix in the NFC North.  “I wouldn’t make any speculations, but I’m hoping to be able to play with the team,” McKinnie said.  The next hearing for McKinnie is set for June 20th.  If the justice system does not get him, the league might, as commish Roger Goodell may hand down some sort of suspension.
