If they Want to Win the North; It Has to Start Now

Sitting at 3-4 and coming off a bye week, it’s back to work for the Vikings as they get set to host the red hot Houston Texans on Sunday at home. They are coming off that wild 48-41 loss to the Bears two weeks ago. Now with two straight home games, it’s time for this Vikings squad to start playing like the team that many thought they were at the start of the season.

In looking at the division, there is plenty of chance to get not only to .500 with a win this week, but this team can find itself right back at the top of the division with a win and losses by the Bears and Packers, though the Bears losing to Detroit is rather unlikely.

Right now both Green Bay and the Bears are 4-3. The Vikings are just a game out, and with nine games left, five at home, the team can still get the NFC North title. In breaking down the schedule, they have the Texans this week, a good team, but one that is still 3-4.

Then it’s the Pack at home, a team that has had their letdowns as well this season and can be had. Then they play back to back games in Florida – at Tampa Bay, a good team and even better at home, and then at Jacksonville, a team that has lost 3 of 4 at home.

A huge Sunday night game vs the Bears is then up on November 30th, followed by back to back winnable road games – at Detroit and at Arizona. They wrap up with two tough home games against the Falcons and Giants. Hopefully the Giants will have nothing to play for in week 17.

In those nine games, they really need to win 6 or 7 if they want a legit shot at the NFC North title.
