Vikings center Matt Birk wasn’t sure if Sunday’s game marked his last as a member of the Vikings, but the veteran certainly seemed to have considered that possibility. The St. Paul native posed on the field with his parents and his wife for a picture after the Vikings’ 26-14 playoff loss to the Eagles, then made his way around the locker room to shake hands with teammates.
“You never know,” Birk said. “Certainly in my situation it’s a nice time to reflect. It’s always human nature to worry about what’s next and what’s my future hold. I worked really hard, especially this whole year, just worrying about right now and enjoying the right here and right now. After [the game] I made sure I went around and just shook everybody’s hand and just telling them how much I appreciate them. One thing that’s evident is change in this deal. A lot of guys aren’t going to be back.”

Matt,
You on the take in your last game? The bad snap was just icing on the cake. How about making all of those line calls that allowed your QB to be the Eagles team pinata? Didn’t think anyone would notice? Hope that payday was worth it.
