Vikings Close to Getting Veteran QB Rosenfels in a Trade

There have been plenty of reports about the Vikings looking for a veteran QB to come in and challenge Tarvaris Jackson for the 2009 season. There now is a report that the team is going to get that veteran QB, and it’s going to be the Texans Sage Rosenfels. The team already looked at Rosenfels last season, but settled for Gus Frerotte. Here is the report from the Houston Chronicle:
The Texans and Minnesota are close to completing a trade that would send quarterback Sage Rosenfels to the Vikings, possibly for a fourth-round draft choice. The Texans had no comment on the report. This is the second year in a row in which the Vikings have been interested in acquiring Rosenfels as their starting quarterback.
Rosenfels would be a great fit for the Vikings, as he’ll likely push Jackson, who was not very good in the teams playof loss to the Eagles.
