The Vikings today made the move to acquire Texans QB Sage Rosenfels official, as the team has gotten the QB to challenge Tarvaris Jackson. The deal with the Texans is for a fourth-round draft pick.
The Vikinigs also signed Rosenfels to a two-year extension through the 2011 season. He is scheduled to make $1.35 million in 2009.
A backup for most of his three-year tenure with the Texans, Rosenfels started five games last season in place of an injured Matt Schaub. He threw for 1,431 yards with six touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
Rosenfels’ finest performance came in a 28-21 loss at Minnesota, when he finished 21-of-29 for 229 yards, two TDs and one pick. In seven seasons with Miami and Houston, Rosenfels has thrown for 4,156 yards with 30 touchdowns and 29 interceptions.

The only reasonthe vikings got rosenfels is because he is the only quarterback that is worse than Tavaris Jackson and Gus Frerotte. Childress cannot admit he made a mistake (like Al Davis) drafting jackson. Childress wants his loverboy in and how come no one realizes it!!! There are so many problems with jackson!
1: when he drops back, he looks to his primary receiver, and when he’s not open, he panics.
2: too mobile. Jackson runs around like a baboon until he gets sacked or throws the ball up for grabs.
3: too slow of a thinker. He is similar to Rex Grossman in this way. Jackson does not know what to do when he see’s linebackers blitzing. he drops further back and hugs the ball.
Childress is blind, and so are all of the more arrogant vikings fans who think the vikings r the best team in the NFL. i am a die hard vikes fan, but i know they need alot of work. Zygi, start by dumping that puke childress.
