Torry Holt Officially On The Market

Rams Holt Football
So much for Leonard Weaver being the best free agent available. As expected, the Rams have released veteran wide out Torry Holt. The 32 year old has had a great career thus far, generating 1,000 yard seasons in eight of his ten seasons playing. He also has 74 career touchdowns. Holt will be coveted by a number of teams, and the Vikings are considered to be towards the top of that list.

There is some speculation as to whether it is too late in Holt’s career to move into the west coast offense, which would be a new experience for him.

The fact that Holt is a top receiver who does not have sideline antics similar to a Chad Johnson or a Terrell Owens type of player may make him a more attractive option to Brad Childress, who tends to avoid the big ego receivers.

Holt will likely find a new team very quickly, and it’ll be interesting to see if the Vikings make a move in the wake of losing out on the Houshmanzadeh bidding.
