Peterson Story A Lie

Yesterday we reported that Adrian Peterson and three unknown players gave Northern Iowa $150,000 to help save their football program. The source of that story was NIACC assistant coach Kevin Griffith… and he lied. He made up the whole thing! This is one of the weirdest things I’ve ever heard, but Griffith said, “I made a mistake and anything that comes out of this falls on me.”

It sounds like there was maybe some mix up in communication from Griffith to other members of the college, and that he meant to say that there MIGHT be some money coming from Adrian Peterson and that there IS money coming from Adrian Peterson. Either way, this puts Peterson in an awkward situation, and it’ll be interesting to see how he responds in the coming days.
