Last year the Vikings got to play the hated Packers on Monday Night Football to close out the season’s first weekend. With league meetings going forward Monday, some information about the primetime schedule of opening weekend and Thanksgiving weekend is now available. Even with the league’s most popular running back and the league’s most energetic defensive end, the Vikings haven’t been picked for primetime on either weekend. According to Access Vikings the Steelers will host the Titans on Thursday, Sept. 10 on NBC to begin the season. Opening weekend’s Sunday night game will be Bears versus Packers in Lambeau. Then the Monday night double-header will feature Patriots hosting the Bills and Raiders hosting the Chargers.
On Thanksgiving the Lions will host the Packers, Cowboys will host the Raiders, and the Broncos will host the Giants.
You know you’ve had a slow offseason with minimal buzz generated when the Lions, Bills, Bears, and Packers are are deemed more worthy to be showcased in the best time slots. Oh, and the Raiders were picked twice… great.
