Vikings To Keep Extensions Coming?

In an article by Judd Zulgad at the Star Trbune Brad Childress discusses that the Vikings are going to be looking to extend the contracts of a few more players. The lack of money being spent on free agency this year is thought to be one factor.

Another factor is that there will be changes due to the Collective
Bargaining Agreement talks that will mean players have to be over the age of 26 next year in order to become an unrestricted free agent. This means that next year’s free agency period will consist of an older and possibly less talented group, with fewer players to choose from.

Some players that the Vikings could be looking to give contract extensions to include Antoine Winfield, Adrian Peterson, Chester Taylor, and Chad Greenway. Tarvaris Jackson is also entering his contract year, but it is hard to say whether he’ll receive an extension or not.
