Cutler Still In The Mix?

Broncos Falcons Football
I’ve been pretty confident in my recent assertions that the Vikings chance to get a deal done for quarterback Jay Cutler has already come and gone. While I still think that they don’t stand a chance, there are rumblings that if Childress and Cutler were able to sit down and have a chat they may prove to be more compatible than originally thought.

Childress is rumored to think highly of Cutler’s playing ability, but there are also concerns of a personality clash. Sid Hartman details some comments made by a close friend of Childress’ and Gophers coach Tim Brewster.

Even if Childress and Cutler had the opportunity to sit down and chit-chat (or if match.com thought they were just right for each other) then there’s the issue of asking price. The Broncos are reportedly asking for at least two first rounders, and that’d be a tough bill for the Vikings to pay. However, not only would the Vikings get a new starting quarterback, they’d also be spending the picks to ensure that Cutler doesn’t end up in the hands of divisional foes such as the Bears or Lions.
