Ex-Viking Darren Sharper made a silly comment in an online chat a few days ago in which he basically was taunting Adrian Peterson, and at the same time predicted that the Saints and Vikings would both make it to the playoffs.
Sharper said: “I’ll be looking forward to playing the Vikings and I hope Adrian Peterson is still there so I can run through his chest.”
First of all, I’ll admit that Sharper didn’t exactly guarantee playoff spots for the Vikes and the Saints, but since they don’t play each other this coming season, the playoffs are the only real option for Sharper to get his wish.
Second, the thought of Sharper even catching Adrian Peterson after his performance over the last few years is pretty much a laugh and a half. He should be more worried about making a Saints starting lineup that is now chaulk full of young secondary players rather than running his mouth about spearing the league’s best player.

And while I have your attention: league’s best player? Child, please. He’s not even the league’s best running back anymore. I realize homers have to be loyal to their boys, but you sound silly when you do this.
Almost as silly as Sharper. Even Saints fans know Darren loses that battle.
a) This was posted back in May.
b) Sharper’s defense is great at takeaways, but outside of that his defense ranks pretty low.
c) Even your own Vilma has stated that Peterson is the best running back in the league still.
d) Sharper would still get burned or run over by Adrian in the open field, and if he gets the chance to prove it on Sunday, you’ll think of this post.
Maybe Adrian will make Sharper the new Al Harris.

Seriously. I promise that Sharper will be getting at least a pick from Farve and if Peterson reaches the secondary, he will be crushed by Sharper. Sharper can smell those cross routes from a mile away.
