The latest twist in the Brett Favre saga has him telling former QB Trent Dilfer that he’s not coming out of retirement. ESPN wrote that Favre told “NO,” via text to Dilfer about coming back in 2009. Of course we’ve all heard that before, and we know that in the end – Favre still wants to play, and if he can – he will.

The last week all the talk about Favre has been about him coming back this time to play for the team many thought he would play for in 2008 – the Vikings. It’s a fit: Minnesota needs a QB (unless you really think that Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels can get the job done), and Favre still seems to want nothing better than to come back and get two cracks at the Packers.

It seems like Favre has already said 100 times before that he won’t be back – yet at the end of the day, it seems one thing is clear – he’ll play somewhere in 2009.
