Delaying The Inevitable
ESPN’s Ed Werder is reporting that Darrell Bevell, the Vikings Offensive Coordinator, went to Mississippi and worked out Brett Favre personally.
Favre reportedly threw around 100 passes during the throwing drills last week, and the results were encouraging.
However, perhaps the bigger news is the fact that Favre is also thought to have told the Vikings that he’ll delay his decision until right before training camp opens on July 31st.
(This would mean that some of you may want to update your predictions under Chris Boynton’s article.)
Pro Football Talk mentions that this may be a ploy by the Favre camp to squeeze more money out of the Vikings. Judd Zulgad of the Star Tribune laughs at those who thought Favre’s timeline to announce his return would even take into consideration such petty things like single-game ticket sales.
While these reports all kind of have different theories as to why there is a delay, there is one common thread amongst all the articles: It is all about Brett Favre.
Brett continues to put himself and his needs above everything and everyone else, which hopefully doesn’t become the norm around Winter Park and the Metrodome.

Just sign already!!! I can’t believe the Vikings are catering to Favre this much.
