So you thought Brett Favre will surely sign by this Friday, right?  Well, sure I suppose it’s possible.  One thing we’ve learned about Favre, however, is to always expect the unexpected.

For instance, reports from that Favre will make his announcement by Friday also included mentions of his lacking desire to put up with training camp and day-to-day demands of being a superstar in the NFL.

There are also rumblings within league circles that the Tampa Bay Bucs are considering throwing their hat in the ring as an 11th hour suitor for the future hall-of-famer.

So, before you get too comfy with the idea of Favre leading the ’09 Vikings, don’t forget who we’re dealing with here.  You never know exactly what is going to happen.

Tampa Bay heat and humidity Favre will never play for them!! They also have bugs the size of footballs!! “NO WAY”

I could see Favre going to Tampa Bay-I thought for sure they would have gotten him last year–but now that Chuckie’s gone will he go? I think if he plays this year it will be for the Vikings–he wants revenge against Thompson and the GB front office to much.

I agree that the Tampa rumors seem like a long shot, even if the team decides to try it seems like Brett is set on Minnie. However, they might REALLY TRY and they have the cap space to TRY EXTREMLY HARD if they so choose. The Bucs have a ton of money left to spend, and even Brett Favre would have to be interested in making a few extra million dollars… who wouldn’t? I know Bus Cook would be all over it.

Thanks for commenting Bridget and Spanky!
