Favre Will Have Issues to Face Upon His Comeback

Josh Wussow of Football.com has written an interesting column about possible issues that Brett Favre may face upon a comeback. Here’s the story:

As his self-imposed deadline looms closer and closer, one wonders where Brett Favre will find his hands come September – clutching a football in the pocket of his offensive line, or tucking a wrench into the pocket of his Wranglers.

Whether you follow the NFC North or not, the potential storyline is enticing. But beyond the drama and the WWE-style grudge matches, there are some real questions to be answered here. Would the Vikings offense be better with one of history’s greatest signal callers under center? And how would Favre gel with Adrian Peterson?

Assuming he does come back, here are some of the main issues he could face:

Inexperienced Receivers

It is rumored that Favre does not like rookie wideouts. This was discussed in Green Bay, and could carry over to Minnesota. With that being said, Percy Harvin, the Vikings’ number one pick, could learn a lot from the former Packer.

According to reports, Harvin has some maturity issues. If such accusations are true, one has to wonder how well Favre would tolerate the rookie’s behavior. With the Packers and Jets, he was lucky enough to have receivers who, for the most part, were fairly straight-laced, professional players. The presence of Bernard Berrian would be helpful, but there’s not much experience behind him.
