Soon to be Vikings QB Brett Favre is making fun of himself as he is appearing in a Sears ad. WCCO.com sent us the details:

Sears, Roebuck and Co. announced Monday that Brett Favre as filmed a commercial for their Sears Blue Electronics Crew.

Filmed a week ago, the ad shows Favre agonizing over which LED television to buy. Samsung has a new line of LCD TVs which are backlit by LEDs, which the company is simply calling LED TVs.

The ad filmed in Schaumburg, Ill. Also features actor Brad Morris (of Chicago’s The Second City comedy club), who plays a member of the Sears Blue Electronics Crew.

The ad includes a bite of humor. Morris describes Sears’ “real-time price checks” as a way to help guys who have a tough time making decisions.

“You know the type, right?” he asks.

“Yeah, I hate those guys,” answers Favre.

Favre had originally retired from the Packers on March 4, 2008. That same July, he sought release from his contract so that he could play for another team and the Packers accused the Vikings of tampering by talking to Favre. Though they did talk, the Vikings were ultimately cleared of the tampering charge.
