TwinCities.com reports that the Vikings have come to terms with second-round pick OT Phil Loadholt:
The Minnesota Vikings announced today they have signed second-round pick Phil Loadholt, the massive right tackle expected to be the starter this season. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
First-round pick Percy Harvin is the last member of the Vikings’ draft class who hasn’t signed. Loadholt joins cornerback Asher Allen (third round), linebacker Jasper Brinkley (fifth) and safety Jamarca Sanford (seventh) to the list of signed draft picks.
Loadholt (6 feet 8, 343 pounds) is a key piece to the offensive line this season because he should be an upgrade over Ryan Cook, who struggled with holding penalties and sacks allowed last season.
Vikings players will begin reporting for training camp today in Mankato. The deadline to report is Thursday morning. Practices start Friday.
