Allison Gets the Heave – Ho !

According to Andre Allison’s agent Drew Rosenhaus the Minnesota Vikings are in enrest attempts to trade the receiver. The Vikings have informed me that they will be waiving Aundrae by 5 p.m. today if he isn’t traded first.”

Allison was not on the practice field this morning, prompting Rosenhaus to twitter “that It does not come as a surprise that Allison isn’t going to make the roster but the timing of his release is interesting. Coach Brad Childress is scheduled to address the media at the end of today’s first practice so stay tuned on this one.

A fifth-round pick by the Vikings in 2007, Allison had 18 catches for 231 yards in 26 career games. He also was used on kickoff and punt returns and finishes with an average of 25.9 yards on 26 kick returns and a touchdown.

That touchdown came on Dec. 2, 2007 against Detroit when Allison went 104 yards to set a Vikings record for the longest play.

The acquisition of one Percy Harvin may have made Allison expendable..

On a lighter ( Opps ! ) note: Phil Loadholt doesn’t look to me like a man who will get overpowered by many people this season. You know, genetically speaking, humans aren’t really suppose to get that big !!! My guess here is that he grabs the right tackle spot outright during camp and doesn’t let it go for the next 7 – 10 years.

  1. Can’t say this is much of a shock. Harvin’s getting the time whether he earns it or not with his fat rookie contract.
