Update On (Gulp!) Injuries

While nothing is too terrible yet on the injury front (losing Charles Gordon was a real bummer though) the Vikings do have some players that have been visiting the medical tent in Mankato.  Here’s a look at what’s up:

Tarvaris Jackson:  He worked out today, which included taking snaps and dropping back and throwing passes.  While he didn’t take part in the team practice, Jackson seemed okay with his mobility, and he’s expected to be back to practicing like normal soon.

Cedric Griffin:  He has a leg injury and not too many details are known.  He’s been at practice but has been limited.  He’s expected to be back at full speed relatively soon.

Visanthe Shiancoe:  He has an undisclosed injury to his leg.  He has been practicing, which Brad Childress points out as a sign of growth for Shiancoe.  “You would have to stick him in a straight jacket for him not to come out to practice,” Childress said. “That’s an evolution because his first year he would have stayed inside. I think he has learned what it means to be the lead dog at the tight end position.”

Brian Robison:  He didn’t practice on Tuesday due to a hamstring injury, but is not expected to miss any serious time.

E.J. Henderson, Madieu Williams, Jasper Brinkley, and Asher Allen all had injuries in the relatively recent past but are all thought to be at 100% now.
