Frazier says Vikings have two of the top cornerbacks in the NFL

Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier cited the improvement of Griffin on Monday as the reason the Vikings will have two of the top corners in the NFL heading into the season.

“I have been very impressed from the OTAs and now at training camp, with how much Cedric has improved and where he is in this game,” Frazier said. “Antoine is playing at a very high level. The fact that Cedric is continuously improving makes me feel like we are going to have two of the top corners in the National Football League going into the 2009 season. I believe that Cedric is having an outstanding training camp and I really look for him to have a big season.”

Frazier said Griffin has taken a step forward in his maturity, as well as his demeanor and how he approaches the game.

“He is on the verge of taking a big step and we are going to be the beneficiaries of it,” Frazier said. “He has really improved and a part of it is the maturation that has occurred.”

Griffin really seemed to come on strong in the 2nd half last year. I’m looking forward to watching him play as most balls will be thrown his way.
