Knocking On Wood For Multiple Reasons

I have to say, this has been one of the Vikings most positive offseasons in recent memory for two reasons.

First, injuries have been fairly minimal.  Sure Bernard Berrian is battling a hammy issue, but it’s not a season threatening issue.  Sure, Erin Henderson might miss the first 4 weeks, but the impact won’t be too bad given the depth the Vikes currently have at linebacker.  Compared to losing guys like Heath Farwell and Chad Greenway to season ending injuries before the season even started like we have in recent years.  All in all, the Vikes are pretty healthy heading into the season.

The second thing that is a positive sign?  Nobody on the roster was stupid enough to get themselves arrested for any reason.  Sure the WilliamsWall is in a court battle with the NFL, and sure that is a bit of a distraction, but it is not nearly as embarrassing as having one or more of our players getting busted for being moronic.  Other than Bryant McKinnie, the Vikings seem like one of the better teams in the league from a character stand point.

Be cautious however, as there are still three days until their first game.  That’s why I’m knocking on wood hoping that Vikings players stay off the injury report and out of the police report.
