Bobby Wade Sent Packing, Pick Up Lewis

BobbyWadeVikings

On Thursday, the Vikings have decided to release the guy who led them in receptions the last two seasons.

A week ago, Wade restructured his contract which made this season his last with the team and cut his pay in half for 2009.

The straw that broke the camels back was apparently when receiver Greg Lewis was released by the New England Patriots.  Lewis only spent a short time with the Pats this preseason, and prior to that was an Eagle.

It is unclear what exactly the thinking was here, and why Lewis is considered a roster improvement over Wade.  One thing that is clear is that Childress has continued his ways of picking up former Eagles.

Besides, maybe it was Bobby Wade that put a rocking chair in front of Brett Favre’s locker.
