The Injury Updates For Today

Brett Favre recently got the Jets into a bit of trouble regarding them not putting him on the injury report at the end of last year. The team was fined $75,000 for the “error” and G.M. Mike Tannenbaum and former Head Coach Eric Mangini were both fined $25,000 as a result of Favre blabbing about the “error” after joining the Vikings. So, don’t be surprised if Favre ends up on these injury reports more often than not this season.

Childress made it clear that he has no intention of taking a pay cut for not listing Favre. Childress said, “My exact words were, ‘I don’t have an extra 25k, if I need to list you on the injury report with every mucous membrane on your body, I will do that.”

So don’t be surprised if Favre is a “regular” on the injury report from now until he decides to un-re-un-un-re-retire… again.

But the guys who actually made it onto the injury report on Thursday are as follows:

Heath Farwell (hammy) and Anothny Hererra (back) were both limited in practice.  Both are expected to play.  Jim Kleinsasser’s recovery from his hand injury appears to be on track and he hasn’t missed any time.  Erin Henderson is out for Sunday’s game, and probably at least a couple after that, with a calf injury.

Some good news for the Vikings is that Lions preseason standout defensive end, Cliff Avril, did not participate in practice on Thursday.
