Don’t look now, but the Vikings have a very versatile and exciting player in Percy Harvin. He can play wide out, in the slot or even line up in the backfield as a halfback. That’s not counting the wildcat formations that opposing defenses have to account for or his contributions to the specials teams as a kick returner.

In Sundays game against the Cleveland Browns he was everywhere. He had 3 pass receptions for a team high 36 yards and a TD. He rushed the ball twice for 22 yards, and returned 3 kicks for 99 yards. That’s eight touches for a total of 157 all-purpose yards in his first NFL game.

The Viking defense was led by E.J. Henderson with eight tackles and a sack. Great to have you back big guy !!! Other players recording sacks were Ray Edwards, Kevin Williams and Letroy Guion.

The Vikings injury report looks like this for the Detroit game:

Jim Kleinsasser TE is probable for Sunday’s game against Detroit with a hand injury. Anthony Herrera G is questionable for Sunday’s game against Detroit because of his back. Heath Farwell LB is questionable for Sunday’s game against Detroit with a hamstring pull.

I have to wonder how good P.Harv would be if he played for another team… say the Raiders. Would he play at a lower level? I think he would, and I think he might even be a problem should the Vikings struggle in other seasons.

That being said, I am VERY much looking forward to seeing what he’s brining this year.
