I wanted to take the time to direct you all towards Viking Update at scout.com where Brian Robison recently did an online chat with the fans.

First, I wanted to draw your attention to it because it is a fantastic opportunity for fans to interact with a player, and Robison says he plans on making this a weekly deal.

Second, many fans were asking similar questions about why Robison is not starting yet when he has proven to be so productive on limited reps.  Robison seems to be chomping at the bit to be a starter, judging from his answers.

Third, I found the following bits of dialougue to be utterly halarious.  These are bits that I’ve strung together for you.  Just so you know, Tim Yotter is the chat moderator over there.

Hey Brian. A little while back there was a poster on the Viking Update forums claiming to be you, defending your run stopping ability. Was that really you, or was it just an impostor?

Brian Robison:
That was really me…. Vikings96…. I like to interact with the fans and at that time I felt that I needed to speak what I thought was the truth.

 Tim Yotter:
Players should have the ability to defend themselves, no doubt. Thanks for coming on and doing that.

You said you post. Any other players post?

Brian Robison:
Not to my knowledge

Vikings96 – You like to interact with the fans, yet no twitter. What up with that?

Brian Robison:
LOL.  My Wife is trying to get me to do it and you know women they always get what they want.

Tim Yotter:
Must be a bunch of women here because they wanted a player to chat with and, look, here’s Brian Robison.

Tim Yotter:
Brian, if the users start criticizing your wife’s barrell-riding skills, will you promise to keep posting on the forums?

So, what’d we learn here?
1.  Brian Robison spends time going online to defend his run stopping abilities in forums, which is halarious.
2.  Robison’s wife wears the pants in that family.
3.  Tim Yotter is lucky he became a sports writer instead of an improv actor because he’s, well, not funny.
4.  Robison really seems like just “one of the guys.”
5.  This weekly chat will be something worth catching in the future.
Oh, and I forgot to mention the funniest thing Robison said.  In response to who is the best tackle he’s ever played against:
Brian Robison:

I feel that Joe Thomas is up there but in my opinion I practice against the best everyday.
