Exactly How Good Is Rice?

Sidney Rice has generated a lot of buzz the last couple of weeks, and really seems to be coming into his own as a top flight receiver.  So I just wanted to take a look at his stats rundown and take a look at how he’s doing in comparison to others around the league.

Catches – Rice has 33 catches which is tied for 13th in the league.

Yards – He has 545 yards, which is tied for seventh in the league and puts him on course for 1,245 for the year.

Yards Per Catch – Right now Rice is averaging 16.5 yards per catch.  This is 8th among players with at least 20 catches.

Touchdowns – Rice has two touchdowns, which is an average number throughout the NFL.

If Rice can keep this up, then perhaps the Vikings have found a new #1 wide out.
