How Do You Preview This Beast?

Normally, I force myself to sit down and do a well thought out preview of each game.  I usually talk about scheme, key match ups, throw in some stats, give some players to watch, and make a prediction.

So, I sat down to take on this task today and finally threw my hands up and surrendered.  Either I’m not a skilled enough analyst to take on this task, or, perhaps I simply know better than to even try.

While some have joked that this game might end prematurely due to riots or violence, it would not be too surprising of a development given some the weird things that happen when the Pack and Vikes get together.

So instead of deciding how Rodgers will find Donald Lee in that soft zone coverage, or what Jared Allen will do to a rookie left tackle, or how many touches Adrian Peterson will see, I will just say that this one will be a wild ride.

Maybe it will all come down to a bogus interference call, or a surreal finger-roll catch a la Antonio Freeman, or perhaps it’ll come down to a blocked field goal, or an unlikely fumble at an inopportune time.

One thing is for sure, no analysts will be able to predict what is about to happen in Green Bay.  The game will be high energy with high emotions which equals highly improbable scenarios and highly unpredictable conclusions.

This Sunday, anything can happen.

  1. Lost Viking says:

Key question: will the Vike loosen up the game plan and just let Favre go at it? How can you keep the juices from flowing?

Darrell Darrell Bevell Bevell must be contemplating something similar to the Bear game in Chicago last year where two offenses just slugged it out. Throw out the game plan after a couple of series and fill the sky with footballs.

Would be surprised if we have the slow-w-w-w offensive start we saw last week in Pittsburg
