Both the Sporting News and NFL.com have the Minnesota Vikings sitting at number 3 in their prospective Power Polls behind the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts.
Minnesota sits just in front of the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers who weigh in at numbers 4 and 5 respectively.
It’s no coincidence that the top five teams have 5 of the top rated quarterbacks currently on their respective rosters according to ESPN.
The top 8 come out as follows:
1. Aaron Rogers – Green Bay Packers – He’s good, but is he really Number 1 ?
2. Drew Brees – New Orleans Saints- With New Orleans averaging almost 40 points a game, this one is solid.
3. Peyton Manning – Indianapolis Colts – Again, hard to argue.
4. Brett Favre – Minnesota Vikings – Having the best year of his career, this seems a bit high to me, but he’s making a statement for Possible MVP half way through this season.
5. Ben Rothlesburger – Pittsburgh Steelers – When he’s on, it’s hard to beat the Steelers.
6. Phillip Rivers – San Diego Chargers – He’s an excellent QB, but his receivers drop a lot of his passes and his team hasn’t kicked it into gear yet.
7. Carson Palmer – Cincinnati Bengals -He has really turned himself around this season. He’s a great talent and is surrounded by excellent receivers.
8. Donovan McNabb – Philadelphia Eagles – He’s having an up and down season, but is still a terrific QB.
9. Tom Brady – New England Patriots – Many feel he should be rated much higher then this. But the knee injury and his slightly inconsistent play has made him drop from Number 1 to 9. Expect him to rise towards the top of this list by season’s end.
Honorable Mention :
10. Joe Flacco – Baltimore Ravens –
11. Matt Ryan – Atlanta Falcons –
12. Kurt Warner – Arizona Cardinals -

Aaron Rodgers #1 what a joke. I would take Kurt Warner over Rodgers and Warner is #12. Actually I would take all 11 behind him first.
