Stadium Talk Takes A Step Backwards

The Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission’s most recent proposal to the Minnesota Vikings was met with an angry reaction.  They had essentially put forth a proposal to extend the Vikings’ lease on the Metrodome which expires in 2011. The Commission’s intentions were to propose a friendly solution to the Vikings’ stadium woes.  Vikings spokesperson, Lester Bagley, [...]

Favre Mic’d Up

Gotta say, even as someone who might still have some reservations about that grey haired guy posing as a Viking this year, this video that Lost Vikings pointed out is pretty cool. You can view it here. Enjoy.

Extension Could Be On The Way

There were numerous reports on Wednesday that the Vikings are close to extending the contract of Head Coach Brad Childress.  While he is currently the lowest paid head coach in the NFL, the new deal is expected to double Chili’s $2 million annual salary. As can only be expected, Childress denied the reports on Wednesday.  [...]

Winfield Back; Other Injury News

The good news for the day is that Antoine Winfield was back on the practice field today.  Asked if he has a green light to play on Sunday against the Seahawks, Winfield said, “As far as I’m concerned, yes.” “It’s been a while since I’ve been on the field. I’m anxious to get back out [...]

Thanks For The Great Tip, LostViking

I just wanted to thank LostViking (you know him from the comments section) for sending me a link to a great new site… or at least it is new to me. It is called Pro Football Focus, and you can check it out by clicking here. I have to be honest, I’ve been searching for [...]

Feelin’ The Love

The Vikings have sent quite a few players to the Pro Bowl over the years.  This year, however, it looks like perhaps they’ll be sending a few more than usual. According to the Star Tribune, many Vikings players have the lead in the NFC at their respective positions.  The players in the lead are running [...]

Future At Risk: Bernard Berrian

Vikes Geek is quickly becoming one of my favorite Vikings blogs on the internet.  The writer over there doesn’t provide constant updates, but when he decides to delve into a topic he does so with unabated fervor.  Last week, he wrote an article on Bernard Berrian that really weighed on my mind for most of [...]

Standing Out In The Standings

Here is a look at how the standings shake out after an exciting Sunday. NFC NORTH The Vikings maintain a four game lead over the Bears, whom they must play twice between now and the end of the season.   They also have a three game lead over the Packers, which is technically a four game [...]

Edwards Call Brings Life To A Fading Debate

Ray Edwards had himself a heck of a game against the Lions.  Five tackles, three for a loss, two sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.  However, perhaps his best play of the game was the one that hurt the Vikings more than any other. On a third down, Edwards rushed the passer as [...]

No Crow To Eat Today

One of Vikings Gab most faithful readers, Big Johnny, seemed to think I might have set myself up to eat a ton of crow when I previewed the Lions game with such confidence that the Vikings would win.  Despite two lost fumbles, a failed fourth down attempt, our “number one” wide out playing possibly the [...]
