Climbing In The Rankings

The Vikings recent blowouts have resulted in better overall rankings in many different places.

While power rankings have consistently had the Vikings behind only the Saints and the Colts for the past five weeks, I have noticed that the Vikings have crept into the number two spot on a few power rankings.  In these rankings, they have passed the Colts, with the thinking being that the Vikings are a more balanced team than the Colts and would beat them if they were to play today.

Also, the Vikings have improved in all of their official rankings.  Here is where they stand in the NFL:

–          Offensive Scoring:  2nd

–          Offensive Yards:  5th

–          Rushing Yards:  9th

–          Passing Yards:  7th

–          Points Allowed:  8th

–          Yards Allowed:  8th

–          Rushing Defense:  2nd

–          Passing Defense:  19th

These are all improvements, which is a good sign that this team is playing its best football of the year heading into the final games of the regular season.

Adams all I can say is stats are stats, which thank you are great, but this year we need to do some damage in the playoffs./ Anything less than an NFL championship is a failure.

I just have a good feeling about the team as compared to the 1998 and 2000 vikings. The 98 vikings never knew how to come back from games…2000 Vikings backed into the playoffs…

This team has jelled and grown so much this year.

1998 Vikings were always smoking teams so they didn’t know how to handle that kind of pressure. And being in the NFC championship game was alot of pressure. What do you guys think???

Charlie, this team is more balanced than 1998 and has more quality depth.
