The Vikings continue to dominate in Pro Bowl fan voting.

The following Vikings players lead their respective position in NFC fan voting:  RB Adrian Peterson, fullback Naufahu Tahi, offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie, guard Steve Hutchinson, center John Sullivan, kicker Ryan Longwell, kick returner Percy Harvin, defensive end Jared Allen, nose tackle Pat Williams, punter Chris Kluwe, and special-teams player Heath Farwell.

Tahi, McKinnie, Sullivan, and Kluwe all being at the top of their position in the NFC continues to amaze me.  The fact that Pat Williams is ahead of Kevin Williams in the voting also amazes me.  Kevin Williams has enough votes to come in 2nd place among NFC tackles, however.

Brett Favre has the second most votes among NFC quarterbacks, behind only Drew Brees.

Despite missing almost 6 games, Antoine Winfield is the second most voted for in the NFC behind only Asante Samuel.  Amazingly, Winfield is somehow beating the Packers’ Charles Woodsen.

Phil Loadholt is in second place (behind McKinnie) in votes for the NFC tackles, and Anthony Herrera is in second place (behind Hutchinson) as the best guard in the NFC.  In other words, if the Pro Bowl was based only from fan voting, and fan voting ended today, then the Vikings entire offensive line would be going to play in the game.

Chad Greenway is behind Demarcus Ware in the voting for outside linebacker.  Sidney Rice and Visanthe Shiancoe are both 5th in the NFC at their respective positions, though I would be surprised not to see them rising up the charts and both making the Pro Bowl.  At inside linebacker, E.J. Henderson has the third most NFC votes, behind Patrick Willis and Jonathan Vilma.

Madieu Williams is second among free safeties in the NFC and Tyrell Johnson is third among strong safeties in the NFC.  I don’t really know what to say about that.

It is odd how many Vikings are being considered.

By these votes, a whopping 17 Vikings would be headed to the Pro Bowl, with four more being pretty darn close.

In my opinion, the true Pro Bowlers on this team based on this year’s performances are Brett Favre, Adrian Peterson, Percy Harvin, Sidney Rice, Visanthe Shiancoe, Steve Hutchinson, Kevin Williams, Jared Allen, and Ryan Longwell.

That’s nine.

Something tells me that nine is closer to the amount of players the Vikings will actually have voted into the Pro Bowl.  That being said, keep stuffing that ballot box folks.  Go to nfl.com to vote.
