I thought I’d open a thread where I can post updates throughout the day. I thought about just starting the live blog way early, but I’ll be in and out too much throughout the day. So here’s the first batch of updates, and do not forget to hit refresh for more updates throughout the afternoon.
- 12:34: Redskins are beating the Saints 10-0 through almost an entire quarter. The Skins have dialed up a great defense against the high powered Saints. Had Fred Smoot not dropped an easy pick-six, they could be up by much more.
- 12:35: Matt Leinart took the majority of the first team reps throughout the week, but ESPN reports that Kurt Warner is expected to play against the Vikings.
- 12:39: In regards to all of yesterdays comments, I agree that Tebow played an awful game and may have played himself right out of the first round. However, his receievers did him very few favors. Pike was fantastic, and I am starting to think he cracks the first round.
- 12:40: After about a quarter, the Bears are beating the Rams 10-0 and the Lions are beating the Bengals 7-0.
- 12:52: The Saints get their first points in the way of a field goal. The Redskins defense is holding up very well thus far. The Skins lead 10-3.
- 1:01: ESPN reports that the NFL owners have opted to discontinue the NF:’s revenue sharing. This is huge for the Vikings, who benefit greatly from the program as they generate the second least stadium revenue of all the NFL teams. This could affect the cash that the Wilf’s have on hand to nab big-name free agents like they have in years past. More on this to come later.
- 1:05: The Bengals have pulled ahead of the Lions and lead 14-7. The Bears are maintaining a 10-0 lead over the Rams.
- 1:09: The Saints have tied the game at 10 on a TD in which Colston was wide open in the end zone.
- 1:20: The Redskins are back up by 7 points on the Saints. Bears up by seven. Lions down by seven.
- 1:38: The Saints tied the game back up on one of the craziest plays I’ve seen in a long time.
- 2:05: The Redskins have the lead again when they went up by a field goal after halftime. The Lions are now getting blown out by the Bengals and the Bears lead the Rams by eleven. The Skins are sure going to give us Vikings fans some hope today!
- 2:16: Wow, the Redskins just pulled ahead of the Saints by ten points. Granted there is stil 7 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, which is plenty of time for the Saints to make up the difference… but still, this is looking good.
- 2:40: The Saints still trail by 10. The Skins just need to hold on for another quarter. Updates will die off here pretty soon, but make sure to meet back here before kickoff for the live chat!

Go Redskins, they could be who dey.
The Smooter dropped a pick six?
I bet he would’nt have dropped it had it been a colt 45 six pack.
I am getting tired of rooting against the Saints. Frustrating.
Very good CC. Made me cough up my soda.
He missed it. No way! Darn it.
Crap!! TD for the Saints.
(Good morning everyone)
BS review mang!! NFL is so up the Saint’s kiesters!!!
Crappy Redskins, no wonder they are 3-9. But at least Saints look beatable. Hello Fran
Guys,
I hope the Siants play that way from now on… 2:00 to go A chip shot to go up 10 points and he misses it… The Saints were blessed today.
I hope the Vikes take to the Cards tonight!!!
Yep!! Redskins found a way to lose it. They had the chances a blew them. Very poor coverage on that long pass. Still can’t believe he missed the chip shot field goal. Yeah the snap was a little high, but he put it down in time.
Yeah! Skins totally had ‘em!! I really don’t think that was a fumble though, or an INT on the last play of first half! The Skins totally exposed the Saints Def today. A bunch of film for Chili & Co to study! Skol Vikes!
so, who do we shoot first?
geeeeez, Redsucks!
kicker can’t make that?
safety is that stupid?
all Zorn can do is drop his jaw? i would have been livid
they’ll be gone
on the good side, we can beat the saints, home or away, as long as we don’t beat ourselves
Word to Drew Brees’ Mom CV!
