Rice Hits One Thousand

There were a few positive aspects to Sunday’s game that were completely forgotten because the game was otherwise a complete disaster.

One of those bright spots was the fact that Sidney Rice became the first Vikings receiver to gain 1,000 yards in one season for the first time in 5 years.

Nate Burleson was the last Vikings receiver to reach the 1,000 yard mark.  This was way back in 2004.

Rice leads all NFC receivers with 1,036 yards.  He has 63 catches and 4 touchdowns on the year.

Another bright spot on Sunday was the performance of Percy Harvin who is really solidifying his status as Rookie of the Year front runner.  The Cardinals avoided kicking directly to him on special teams.  Also, he lead the Vikings in yardage gained by getting 22 yards on 2 rushes and 79 yards on 6 catches.  He scored yet another touchdown, as well.

They stay late after practice, I like both these guys, And best think about them is they will continue to get better…

Charlie at least we can get excited about something. Packers are just plain lucky. Would love to kick their asses again this year.

@bigjohnny. I agree. One of the commentators was talking about us playing the Packers in the playoffs (and the way he said it made it sound like we should be worried about it)…. PLEASE! I would love to have some more sacks on the year….

Sidney Rice has been great this season. Not only is his talent level great but it seems that his attitude and work ethic are just as strong (something I might valie MORE than just pure talent).

I really enjoy watching him on the field because his stature and the way he runs reminds me of Mr. Moss (I miss Mr. Moss…)

Keep it up Sydney… and avoid fast vehicles please.

    I agree bigj & Brett.

Nobody said it was gonna be easy, it just seemed that way for awhile.

Now we’re in a fight. Now is when the fun starts!
