@ the Lions. A. The Lions traded for Ko Simpson (now on IR) last year just before the season started, and drafted Louis Delmas in the 2nd round so have quite a bit already invested in Safety. I do think Berry is one of the exceptional Safeties worth a top 5 pick. I just see bigger fish to fry for the Lions with that #3 or higher pick. B. If Ndamakong Suh is gone, and he should be the #1 overall pick IMO, then the Lions need a DE much more than they need a DT like McCoy. C. The best DE in this draft is Derrick Morgan, and we all know that DEs and QBs all go higher than they should. There could be an off-season push from a guy like Jason Pierre Paul who is a much more explosive player than Morgan, though not as polished and developed.

I have the Lion draft board 1. Suh 2. D. Morgan 3. Berry 4. G. McCoy 5. Rolando McClain

BTB--Vikings have the talent to win the superbowl, they just have to get past Childress' obstinacy. (Tom Coughlin used to be renowned for his obstinacy, but he saw the light...eventually.) Between New Orleans and Minnesota, I still think New Orleans wins...but you guys definitely have the talent to challenge.

Freds you trying to say those were the only two things that sent you packing? I remember you getting torched by more than just Smith. Chad Ocho comes to mind. Merry Xmas to all

Coach, it's more the attitude than the field. Each team plays on the same surface. Early in the Carolina game the Vikes were slipping, but they changed shoes and adjusted, and it was still close in the second half.
Football teams have so many players, it's very important how the team psychology is. It's easier to turn things around in an individual sport.

Greetings to Freds new friend brian029,

Tony Windfield did seem to eat the same slice of humble pie that your old pal Fragile gagged on a few years ago. Steve Smiths made us both look silly. Now, Freds recalls his slice of pie being the size of Opra's butt. Tony's was a healthy portion, but at least Smith didn't do that rowing thing in the end zone.

That evening and the misunderstanding about that boat ride thing, really sent your old pal packing.

Merry Christmas to all of Freds pals.

Adam - blown away by your Vikings Blog. Absolutely superior to any others out there. Don't get me wrong, there's some very good ones. Bottom line - you do a great job.
Happy holidays everyone!
P.S. Fragile Fred, did you work with Winfield before the Carolina game? :}

I don't disagree with you. However, the Lions don't really have a history of drafting linemen.

No centers or guards will be drafted this early. Okung is a possibility but Schwartz recently raved about Jeff Backus.

McCoy is also a serious possibility, but Eric Berry is simply the better player.
