Opponents Are Set For 2010

This might be getting a little ahead of ourselves (says the guy who is currently working on version 7 of his mock draft) but it is interesting to see that our opponents for the 2010 season are set.

The actual schedule will be available in April.

The Vikings will host:  Chicago, Detroit, Green Bay, Dallas, New York Giants; Buffalo, Miami, Arizona

The Vikings will visit:  Chicago, Detroit, Green Bay, Philadelphia, Washington, New England, New York Jets, New Orleans

To me, that looks like a quite tough schedule.

Freds is only worried about the Super Bowl hang over we will be sporting from this year’s season.

The east coast teams are crap, over blown most of them. The Giants must be tired of coming to MN. Let’s hope its earlier in the season so that game means something.

Fred hates New England, Philly, Giants.

And strength of schedule is not a science by any means. Who knew that one of our toughest games would be Cincy, or that New Orleans would be the #1 seed? This year we lost to a 5-8 team, and beat a team twice who is 9-3 against the rest of the league. Its more about HOW you play rather than WHO you play. But I agree, AW, that we have a strong set of teams lined up agianst us next yeat.

Freds loves the Packers and Bears?

For a mid-week topic, who loses head jobs this off season? Zorn, Lovie, Mangini?

  2. CO Vike Fan says:

Good question coach, everyone seems to think it’s a foregone conclusion that Shanahan is heading to the redskins, but what about possibility of reuniting with Cutler in Chicago? I’m afraid 2 games/year against Shanny would expose our head coach even more than we’re used to.

if seattle keeps tanking when do they kick mr nice guy out?

  3. Fran the Man says:

Yikes! Guess that’s what a Super Bowl bound team can expect.

  4. Purple Charlie says:

    Pretty tough schedule,
    Eagles,Pats,Saints on the road…

What is up with playing the Giants???
From 2000 – 2010 what have we played them 8 times??? Pretty close I bet

  5. B. Grant says:

Charlie – ever since they traded Fran back to us, they have been trying to get even. You would think 41-0 would settle that little score. Apparently they lobby the league to keep playing us.

  6. Purple Charlie says:

    Coach,
I Really hope they can get straightened around to get that 2nd seed and playing the way they are capable of playing…

Coach, It is really good to see ya on this blog.
Used to read your posts on the Old AV. You are diffently one of my favorites…

  7. B. Grant says:

Thanks Charlie, and I hope the Vikes get it turned around too. I’m usually pretty much a realist, so when I say I think they will, I really do believe they still can get it going. I really do like our chances in the weeks ahead.

I like the Gab, and still trying to keep the OAV going too, as it remains my preferable format. Adam puts good stuff down here though, so I’m enjoying it.

Mock Drafts? Next Year’s Opponents? I don’t want to hear about any of this trivia until the off-season! The MINNESOTA VIKINGS are having an amazing year!!! I might be able to stomach this junk if the team were losing, but this is bull-shit.

  9. Adam Warwas says:

Really?!? A complaint that I write about TOO MUCH vikings news and report it TOO SOON!?! Does this means I can start slacking more?

Somebody get some coal in their stocking this morning or something?

Oh, and bullshit is one word.

  10. Purple Charlie says:

    Adam,
That’s one thing nobody would have to worry about is you being a Slacker…
